LASS HISTORY In the fall of 1945 forty-five excited boys and girls entered the door of M. H. S. for their first year of school under the supervision of Mrs. Bushong. The second year out teacher was Mrs. Jewell Valentine. Two members, Peggy Christy and Mary Ann Kaufman, were added to our class. Our third grade teacher was Miss Joy Hooley and we added another new member who was Dorothy Miller. Our fourth grade teachers were Mrs. Olive Bontrager and Miss Jean Miller followed by Mrs. Olive Bontrager and Mrs. Gail Morrison, our fifth grade teachers. We finished grade school with Mrs. Olive Bontrager and Mr. Harold Thiesen as our teachers. Thomas Rassi Jr. was .a new member in our class. In 1951 we entered Junior High School. We began making money for the class, and we sold concessions at the Junior High Basketball Tourney. We had three new classmates who were: Ruby Miller, Paulette Bicknell, and Sara Yoder. As we entered high school there were five new students from York Township. They were Marlene Fry, Carolyn Miller, Eloise Miller, Kayola Platz, and Marvin Kiefer. In our sopho- more year we chose our class rings and class sweaters. Our sweaters were Columbia Blue and White. In our Junior year we received our rings and sweaters. In the fall we had our Magazine Sale The latter part of March we gave the play, Girl Shy. Then in May our Jtmior-Senior Banquet was held in the all Purpose Room at the High School. Our theme was the Wishing Well. This was the first time the banquet had been held at the school for many years. Our last year as seniors was the most exciting of all. In the spring we gave the play, No More Homework. The last of April we took our Senior Trip. We spent four wonderful and ex- citing days in New York. Baccalaureate was held May 19 and the Commencement on May 23. Both were held in the high school gym. Sixteen members of the senior class went all twelve years to M. H. S.
