•HOT OFF THE PRESSES FOGHORN THE FOGHORN is the Middlebury High School paper, which is published every third week. News is written and edited by the Foghorn staff which is made up of seniors in the second year typing class. The grade teachers contribute news from grades 1 to 6. The class reporters hand in news for the upper six grades and club reporters and high school teachers also turn in articles. The paper is mimeographed and about 250 copies of each edition are distributed. Not only grade, class, and club news is printed in our paper, but sports and jokes as well. The paper also contains many polls taken by the staff in order to learn more about the different students' favorites--favorite foods, actors, actresses, hobbies, songs, pet peeves, and many others. ANNUAL Jobs like assisting the photographer, selling ads, and subscriptions, making copy sheets, meeting deadlines, and thinking out new ideas kept all of us busy. But with all the headaches and problems that we had, it was fun and we gained much experience in compiling this year's book. The person who supplied a large part of the know-how and shared a lot of the responsibility was Miss Hoover, our advisor, who was invaluable to the production of this annual. With a sigh of relief and happiness we can say this is School at Middlebury in '55-’56. These people were responsible for this whole book. QUIET, It is through the cooperation of our student body and our student librarians that we are able to maintain a quiet and attractive library. They have various duties, such as: checking books in and out, cataloging and processing books, and arranging books in correct order on the shelves. They are polite and courteous to the students, and whenever students need guidance in selecting a book, our student librarians are always ready to help. The Bang! Bang! of a gavel tells us that the Speech Club is again in session. The club has organized from the senior speech class in order to promote the practice of parliamentary procedure in its meetings and the practice of speech making in its programs.
