A,,,l...A SEWUIQPLHY The senior play, nThe Mummy Briden, was given October 24, l949 in the high school gymnasium with approximately 350 people attending. The story was about a tomb in Egypt with an inscription which said the mummy was an Egyptian princess and that she would come to life in three thousand, eight hundred and fifty seven years, three months, and two days, at dawn. Professor Plopp figured this up and discovered that it is the next day at dawn. The hero then decided that he would marry her and jilt the girl that he was already engaged to. His friends are worried and decide to put her in the mummy case. The Egyptians learn about the inscription and plan to so the Egyptian people will revolt against the French get their girl in first and when Willard's Miss Farrar in the mummy case they think she is However, put a French girl in English rule. UHIHEU CHRISUUHS PRUGRQVU The annual Christmas pageant put on by the Clinton and Benton c,:r:hes was presented on Sunday evening, December 18, 1949 with afproximately 1000 persons attending. This pageant was the enactment of the old Christmas story told by actions and songs. At the beginning of the pageant Joseph and Mary come to Beth- lehem to seek a room. After being turned away twice, finally one in- nkeeper told them they could stay in the stable. Since they were tired and weary, they accepted his advice. In the next scene the angel appeared to the shepherds who were sleeping. The angel and angel chorus aroused the sleeping shepherds and told them to go and seek the Christ child. At first the shepherds were irritated at being awakened and then become confused and fright- ened. After the angels and chorus left, they decided to follow the angel's directions. as the shepherds went, they called the villagers and told thomtp bnfxg gifts for Jesus. The next scene was just outside the stable. The villagers and shepherds beg Mary and Joseph to permit them to see thc babe. at this time the three kings from the East arrived with their re- inue. They entered the stable and presented their gifts. As the curtain parted , the stage revealed the manger scene, all the villagers, shepherds and kings on their knees worshipping the lfrist child. Herbert Moser SENIOR PERSUUHLITIES In the great year of 1946, this hail and hearty group was banded together. There were a few more of us to start out, but we have lost a few of our eirate crew during our long seige in battles and visits to other far away places. However I think that the strongest of our personalities still remain. Our mighty crew of twelve has had harrow- ing, dangerous, and exciting e oeriences along the way of our great voyage, We have obtained many jewels and riches which we will use in our future life. Most all of these jewels and riches were taken from one group, which was called the M, H. S. Faculty. Now I would like to explain the personality of each member of our courageous and cunning crew. First, there had to be some one to get a pirate crew, His name was nEagle Eyen Theron Sheley, Since he started the crew he was always considered the Captain, He makes a very good Captain because he is very determined. His word carries much strength, when he speaks, his voice can be heard on all decks of the ship, Captain nEagle Eyen Sheley's first stop was at the Ble of Capri where he kidnapped me, an innocent little peasant girl. I remained on his ship as the pirate queen. Thus I was called nQuecnien, Gail Kurtz, His next stop was at Bolona Island, where he took on HThe Wizardu Herbert Moser. HThe Wizardu is very quiet, except in arguments where his high intelligence al 1.-.' ays wins. He has proved to be the main basins behind the Captain. Captah1HEagle Eye'sH next step was at Skwigie, where HCutthroatu Harold Showalter was taken on as a crew member. He is very stalwart, SENIOR PERSUUHLIUES ra, KEUHYUJ ' and mighty in strength. He has a rough manner about him which all the ladies seem to admire. The next stoo was made at Soon's Ecach where a new member was addci to the crew. He was nTurtleU Robert Moser. He is slow, more reserved, and easy going. Ie sneaks from behind when the going sets rcvgh. ' fur next stop was at Hiller Inn B. O., where HCookieN, Phyllis Crivo was kidnapped and taken on 'card as cook for the crdw, Her word CEIFQIE a lot of authority in carrying our work. She is tall, maj- tsfic, Sud talks about the ship very proudly. Ulagle Eyeu Shcley's next halt was at Barred Rock Island, where ?c.jz:rn , Don Slreline was added to the or-ev. Fog-,hom l is very easy to get along with, and he is quite a showman. At every mort the ladi's all take a fancy to hiv with his charmingfays. f.1 At the ygxt stoo on Gozo Island we eicked up nlcepyu, Ted Smith. wT:-fy' is rather quiet voiced. He never has much to say in business iiscussio S. He carries out the orders given him. Our icurney continued on te Abace Island where Wpcglegn Ray pcm-T1 was taken on as a new crew msmbcr. UPeglegH is easy to get along Tith, he is never beth rod by the other crow mepbers, although hx Lxta quite a tit of ribbing which he takas well. 'h1 crow was getting, tired or Washing their own clothes so our next stop was at the Islanv of E050 whore the crow kidnapped a very innocent girl with a lot of fighting spirit. They called her nSpit- firuu June Hita, The crew forced her to do her work. Aft rwards she would try to bu contrary and mischievous. . -I id SENIOR PEQSUUHLHIES ICUHTUJ Captain nEagls Bysu, directed his next stop at Zomhi .Isl nd where nDickcnsH, Lon Burtsfield was taken on as a new crew mcnhcr. He proved to be quite easy to get along with, he is Always willing tp help out. Hu is always nice and kind to the ladies of thc crew. He has cnc outstanding characteristic and that is mischieviousncss. He is always pulling a joke on somsone, but hs is well liked. Gur last stoo was at Stromboli, whore we uicked un our last crow . s. member the clown of the crow. He is HStoogeH Dave Qarthclomew, hStoogcn has a very pleasing and carefree manner. CLHSS PIQUPHECY After having sailed the seas for several years I feel that it is time for a vacation. But where to go is my problem. Oh, I have it! Why not visit my classmates of USON? So mates, if you will kindly Store your gear aboard, we will get everything in ship-shape for the cruise. After making hotel reservations, I prepared to leave on my trip. My first stop was in New York. While sightseeing I noticed a sign that read, UAttorney at Lawu Herbert Moser. I decided to visit Herbert and see how things were going. Tonight, we the Seniors of SO have gone back a few years to bring back memories that we have read about in our history books about the pirates. So far no one has been hurt or killed in the voyage we are on, but we will wait until I finish this advice to the teachers before we come to a conclusion of what will happen the rest of the evening, I First of all we want to advise the faculty as a whole, to quite teaching school and take up a profession where they can make more money. We want to advise Mr. Kimmell to trade his agriculture book for a small farm, the ag, boys think you need a little more experience be- fore you begin to tell them something that doesn't exist on a farm, We want to advise Mr. Miller to get a new Rocket Oldsmobile be- fore the physics class takes their trip to Chicago, we might not get back with the '47, the shape it's in.
