CHE Middlebranch Diamonds, playing the last season in Class B ranks, compiled a league record of 5 wins and 8 losses. The Diamonds fought an uphill battle all the way in that they had a totally inexperienced team, having only one returning letterman, Dale Evans. Evans paced the Diamonds' scoring, racking up 317 points. The Diamonds, playing their first Class A tourney game, upset the highly-favored Orr- ville team 48-47. Then advancing into the semi-final, the Diamonds went down in defeat 64-44 against the Timken Trojans, the twelfth-rated team in the state. The Diamonds showing great fight and determination proved that they have great possibil- ities for next season due to the fact that they shall be losing only one letterman, Bob Young, the only senior on the team.
