PREFACE The Graduating Class of Middlebranch High School presents to the students the Memoir of nineteen hundred fifty-one. We sincerely wish that in presenting this yearbook, We will have furnished for both stu- dents and teachers, a living record of all those Wonderful happenings which Will be in a little while only beautiful memories to all. If this Memoir will help you to recall names, faces, and outstanding events in later years, we the staff will feel that the 1951 Memoir has ac- complished its small task. 6

BOARD OF EDUCATION BACK ROW: Mr. L. H. Symes, Mr. Don Black, President. FRONT ROW: Mr. Ransom Barr, Mrs. Ellen Zur Lindeng Mr. Dennis St. Clair, Vice President. ABSENT: Mr. Robert McGlynn, Clerk. During the past year, the Board of Educa- tion has accomplished much for the benefit of our school. They have employed a new dietitian, pur- chased a new duplicator machine, typewriters, two sousaphones for the band, and 35,000 worth of shop equipment. The Board has approved a contract allowing an addition for Pleasant View, Avondale, and a new Arts Building for Middlebranch. An entire new school building is being erected for Edge- field School. 8
