Ladies Shoot Their Way To The Top The 1987-88 Varsity Girls' Basketball season was a success in all aspects. The Panthers finished the year with the school's third best record, with 22 wins and 6 losses. Though not first in CAL, the team played exceptionally well, advancing to the second playoff game where they lost a closely contend- ed match to Lakewood. The girls were helped out by Tracy Greenwaldt, who led the team in assists and placed third in the school's all-time assists record. Though only a junior, Michelle Greenwaldt has already compiled 926 career points and is sixth in all-time scoring. She also set the record for most steals in one season with 142. Senior Franny Grant completed the season with 701 career points, eighth in the school's history. All members are satisfied with their performance and are looking forward to an equally rewarding season next year. xy!

pn 9 'ff' 5:15 er Competiti e As a freshman coming into the high school, playing basketball was a very competitive sport. There was competition not only from oppo- nents during a game, but also from teammates during practice for start- ing positions. Practices for basket- ball were very hard, but players learned alot about the fundamentals of the sport and how to play it well. A freshman, however, had to be ready to play at anytime. Sometimes players would not show up for a practice and someone else would have to jump in both feet first and fill his spot. Even though problems did arise the team still came through with a great season. ,, - fav ,ZW ?.95 Zvi V if in WW 5 if 399 it ll ff tholic QE?
