E Middle Takes CAL This year's Boy's Basketball Team chalked up another first for Middle Township by winning back to back championship titles. This was not an easy accomplishment as competition was tough in the league especially from Lower and Wildwood Catholic. Lower almost became the spoiler by beating Middle in overtime by one in their only home loss. However, Lower again became the spoiler by beating Wildwood Catholic with a buzzer beater to put Middle and Wildwood Catho- lic in a CAL tie. A playoff game was not possible because of post season play so Middle and Catholic shared the CAL title. Both the even balance of the team and quality coach staff combined with the enthusiasm of the Middle fans produced a formidable combination that was hard to beat.

Kz' ':':' s ',,, s s zz- :: ' l, Z V ig- ' The Varsity Field Hockey Team did very well this year, with seven wins, seven losses, and two ties, and a league record of seven wins, five losses, and two ties. With these scores, the team went to the State Tournament and played a great game, but was defeated in the first round. There were many great play- ers on the team this year. Allison Schmid, and Lisa Swecker both made the Cape May County All-Star Team. Michelle Eisiminger made lst Cape-Atlantic League All-Star Team, and Melodie Porch, JJ Picker- ing, Allison Schmid, and Kim Lea- vitt made 2nd team.
