A Learning Experience 1. Lois Bennett fights for the ball. 2. Peter Seehagen, an exchange student from Sweden, was the only JV player to score for the Varsity. 3. Midfielder Derrek Thomas passes the ball. 4. Fullback Mike Zane clears the ball. 5. JV Soccer Front Row: Jude Woolston, Peter Seehagen, Jen Jones, Eddie Moore, Pat Keen, Scott Newbold. Row 2: Mr. Heck, Derrek Thomas, Mike Zane, Mike Kezlaw, Sean Carey, Chad Conover. 6. Deanna Ebner flicks the ball. 7. Middle waits during a timeout. 8. Left inner, Michelle Pepper, scored three goals this year. 9. Mi- chelle Demusz plays sweeper. 10 Michelle Mann keeps an eye on varsity play. . JV Field Hockey added four fresh- men to the team this year, finishing the season triumphantly. Only Mi- chelle Pepper had played on a team before, but the rest learned from ex- perience. The team had a record of two wins, five losses, five ties, and a league record of two wins, four losses, and five ties. The leading scorer for the team this year was freshman Mi- chelle Pepper. Good job JV and its new freshmen!

Big Comeback JV soccer players started this year with many varied skills but nonetheless developed will as a team When Middle first played St Augustine they were defeated 6 0 However the re match was a different story, as the Panthers defeated their op- ponent 1-O for one of the high- lights of the year. The team ended their season victoriousey, winning against Oakrest, 5-0. This year's team was made up primarily of freshmen, with only two veterans. Peter Seeha- gen, a Swedish exchange stu- dent, was a welcome addition to the team, and Jennifer Jones joined the Panthers to make the group the school's only coed sport.

Shelly Lyons had to sit out many of the games because of an injury, but still came out to support her team. 6. Allison Schmid won the most valuable player award. 7. Front Row: Stephanie Hovik, Michelle Pepper, Michelle Mann, Melodie Porch, Kim Leavitt, Michelle Demusz. Row 2: Kerrie Bemis, Donna Parker, Louis Bennett, Deanna Ebner, Julie Fry. Row 3: Coach Damiana, Delia Adrian, Alex Nielson, Shelly Lyons, Lisa Sweaker, Cindy Leith, Niccole Lynch, Michele Eisiminger, Allison Schmid, JJ Pickering, Tootsie Daley, Michele Tomling, and Coach Sherry Hicock. 8. Michelle Eisiminger scored four goals and made two assists. 9. Our Sweeper, Lisa Swecker, fights a Bridgeton opponent for the ball. 10. Our team defeated Bridgeton 1 - 0. 'W
