Despite many internal problems, Coach Seim, head coach for the first time, managed to guide the Panthers out of a slow 2-7 start. They redeemed themselves by winning the next five games. A victory over St. Joe's not only ended the season on a positive note but also put Middle in the playoffs. The Panthers' ho- merun crew, the team's most valuable asset, con- sisted of Rich Seymour, Brian Markle, Eugene Smith, Sean Smith, Tim Hand, and Reggie Easley. In particular, Rich stood among the league leaders with a batting average of 400. All the while, broth- er Steve accumulated strike-outs with his fast- balls. Look out for the Panthers next season.
