0nce In The Highlands . . 7' We .M What happens when two metropolitan executives played by Jim Moore and Geoff Byrne, while on a hunting trip come across an enchanted village in the Scottish Highlands? What happens when they discover that this magical land has not appeared in one hundred years? And what happens when one of the Americans CJimJ falls in love with a lovely miss of the town, played by Chris Heck and Linda Singer and has to choose between his fast-paced existence in the city and the quiet peace of this mystical hamlet? The answers to these questions form the story of Brigadoon. ' The play, written by Alan Lerner with music by Frederick Lowe, was presented on March 2, 3, and 4 under the direction of Mrs. Gladys Lauriello and Mrs.'Judith Jenkins. With the aid of the pit orchestra, conducted by Mr. Richard Ludwig, songs such as My Mother's Wedding Day, Go Home With Bonnie Jeanf' and Waitin' for My Dearie both amused and delighted the audience. The response for cast and crew was tremendous. The last musi- cal, Shenandoah, was presented five years ago so the time was right and everyone was ready to use their talents in a musical presentation. The work was hard but satisfying. Brigadoon was fun. Brigadoon was great! l
