This year six Middle students and Mr. James Conlin left for England on October 13th. While overseas, the group toured such historical landmarks as Oxford, Plymouth, Blackport, Warwick Castle and Windsor Castle. Midway through the trip, the Americans made a three-day excursion to London. Here, they explored Big Ben, London Bridge, Trafalgar Square, and Bucking- ham Palace. The students also made many individual trips with their host families, some were even lucky enough to see Stonehenge. Rounding out the trip educa- tionally, the Americans spent several days at the Wing School with their British partners and also Visited near- by colleges. A reluctant group of seven boarded the plane home early in November, comforted only by the fact that they would see their twelve British friends in April. Six of these twelve stayed with their American counter- parts. Luigi Falorni, an exchange student from Florence, Italy, had a busy, yet very enjoyable, year here in the United States. A rowing championship winner, Luigi decreased his 3-hour daily training sessions to about 1 hour, and took time out to practice guitar. When asked what he likes most about America, the Italian promptly replied, I like everything. Peter Seehagen was an exchange student from Mal- moe, Sweden. While in America he enjoyed such sports as baseball, soccer, and hockey. His favorite television shows were Family Ties and MTV, but he admitted he missed Swedish television. Peter plans on attending college at Varnhans Skolan.

0nce In The Highlands . . 7' We .M What happens when two metropolitan executives played by Jim Moore and Geoff Byrne, while on a hunting trip come across an enchanted village in the Scottish Highlands? What happens when they discover that this magical land has not appeared in one hundred years? And what happens when one of the Americans CJimJ falls in love with a lovely miss of the town, played by Chris Heck and Linda Singer and has to choose between his fast-paced existence in the city and the quiet peace of this mystical hamlet? The answers to these questions form the story of Brigadoon. ' The play, written by Alan Lerner with music by Frederick Lowe, was presented on March 2, 3, and 4 under the direction of Mrs. Gladys Lauriello and Mrs.'Judith Jenkins. With the aid of the pit orchestra, conducted by Mr. Richard Ludwig, songs such as My Mother's Wedding Day, Go Home With Bonnie Jeanf' and Waitin' for My Dearie both amused and delighted the audience. The response for cast and crew was tremendous. The last musi- cal, Shenandoah, was presented five years ago so the time was right and everyone was ready to use their talents in a musical presentation. The work was hard but satisfying. Brigadoon was fun. Brigadoon was great! l
