This year has been no exception. From the moment the new senators were elected. SGA worked to serve not only the students, but the faculty as well. Throughout 1987-88, SGA investigated and acted upon stu- dent request for cable TV, student complaints, and traffic violations. On the lighter side. SGA planned exciting activi- ties such as Fall Fling, Spring Fling, and all student-body elections. SGA also worked behind the scenes for benefits which carry students beyond MGC to larger colleges. In October of 1987. ten senators attended the fall conference of the Student Advisory Council to the Board of Regents. Along with delegates from other colleges throughout Geor- gia. our senators helped make important decisions involv- ing topics such as credit transfers, which concern every student. One experi- ence that will always stand out in my mind is being editor of the 1988 Hilltopper. I have benefited so much from this experience and have had the opportunity of working with many special people. I would like to thank all the people who helped make this book a success. First of all. I would like to thank Laurie Wicker for all her hard work and dedication. Not only has Laurie given us her time and energy, but she has befriended us all. I will miss her support and guid- ance next year. Next, I would like to thank George Hinton for his support fall quarter, when Laurie was not here, and for all his behind-the-scences support. I would like to thank my staff for a job well done. Many thanks to Tim Mercer for all his creative ideas and layouts, Jeff Teasley for alj his typing, and for keeping us laughing when we were tired of working. I would also like to thank Lisa Harrell and Melody Baggett for helping with the®sitalion days. This book could not have been published without our dedicated photographers. They spent many hours taking pictures and developing them in our darkroom. A very special thank-you goes to Lee Howard and Lisa Wilkes. This yearbook would not have been possible without your dependability and talent. Also, thanks for all the darkroom lessons tooSI would like to thank Keith Kachelhofer for providing us with the May Day pictures. As this year comes to a close, I realize that my time as editor is almost over. I have truly enjoyed being editor and hope dpat the I9S8 Hilltopper will always be a treasured momento of our lives £t Middle Georgia Colkfll Kinsey Betts Editor, 1988 Hilltopper dosing I $9
