Sunday was hot and humid, not a day for standing in line. A queue of students and parents, though, wound from Sanford Hall into the street. Once inside, a student received his packet of instructions and then was sent to his dorm. Students moved into the dorms, bringing with them the paraphenalia needed to transform each of the carbon-copy rooms into the extension of an individual personality. Finally the day ended, parents leaving their sons and daughters to face the newness of college life and Monday morning. Registration — an indescribable collage of sights and sounds, its disorderly scheme a survival test. Classes could never be this bad.
