Fifty Years of Progress at Middle Georgia College Progress has been the keynote on the campus of Middle Georgia College for the past fifty years. The past and its progress have led Middle Georgia to a prominent place in the ranks of the nation's junior colleges. From the classrooms, through the dormitory halls, and on into areas of student life, the past fifty years have seen rapid advances and growth in faculty, student life and campus facilities. The campus facilities now include three major class- room buildings, four men's residence halls, two women's residence halls, an expansive gymnasium, and a new library. Today, the Middle Georgia College student attends classes under the direction of a large and competent faculty. Course structure has been increased to in- clude technical and liberal arts courses for various majors. Graduates of Middle Georgia College have found little trouble in transferring to many of Georgia's four-year institutions. A careful cultivation of aca- demic life for fifty years has brought M.G.C. to its position of offering the finest in academic contribu- tion. In the area of student activities. Middle Georgia pro- vides opportunities for students to belong to organi- zations which are devoted to special interests. These include the math, science, sports, home economics, and journalism clubs which co-ordinate the varied activities of the college. Other groups recognize scholarship as well as leadership. Student government representatives are elected by the student body each year. For day-to-day relaxation, a favorite meeting place is the campus store, which rounds out the daily ac- tivities of each student. A new one-million-dollar student center-dining hall building is now in the planning stages. Continued progress has enabled Middle Georgia College to offer quality education in modern facilities and an atmosphere of friendship and learning.

 Middle Georgia College's very modern facilities are housed in more than twenty buildings on a campus of one hundred and fifty acres. To enhance the beauty of the campus and to add to the student's enjoyment of school life, M.G.C. has a three-acre pond, an indoor swimming pool, four tennis courts, an athletic stadium, a baseball field and several other playing fields. Roberts Memorial Library is a joy for any student to visit and makes studying a pleasure. One of the state's most modern science buildings, which is presently being enlarged, is located on the M.G.C. campus. New modern dormitories have been built to house the students. Middle Georgia College, which is always seeking to offer more to her ever increasing number of students, is planning among other new constructions a fine arts building.
