1973 ALUMNI HOMECCMING iNlCIlTl0 THAT counts? THEME: J Sf' q, COMMUNICATION THAT COUNTS The Fourth Annual Alumni Homecoming of Mid- South Bible College was held on the college campus the evening of Thursday, December 27, and all day Friday, December 28, 1973. Fifty alumni - along with faculty, staff, and friends - attended the Homecoming. The Homecoming speakers were Dr. David F. Busby, Christian psychiatrist, and Dr. Gene A. Getz, Associate Professor of Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary. The titles of Dr. Busby's two messages were, The Near Nervous Breakdown of Elijah and The Rich Emotional Life of the Lord. The Friday morning mes- Dr. David F. Busby 32-:a1o2 lGitz was entitled Sharpening Focus of the Dr. Crichton shared with alumni on Friday afternoon the areas of progress during 1973 for the college and also some ways that alumni can help the college. He closed his report with the challenge of Joshua 1321, We still have more land to conquer! Mr. David Werner, who is coordinating student procurement efforts under the direc- tion of Dr. Crichton, also gave a report. Fourteen MSBC students are presently representing the college in local and out-of-town high schools and Bible clubs. During the annual business meeting, alumni voted to take on a new project. The 1974 alumni project is to give to the college, over and above regular support, special gifts for the operation of the Alumni Association. This Project is an effort toward becoming a self-supporting organization. Often voted The Favorite Session of the Homecoming by alumni, the testimony and praise service was led by Dr. Roger Clapp on Friday afternoon. Afterward, Hal Lindsey's film, The Return, was shown. DL Gene A. GHZ The 1973 Homecoming Banquet was held at the Univer- sity of Tennessee Medical Student Center. Home movies of past Homecomings were shown, and special music was provided by alumni. Four new officers of the Alumni Association were installed: President - Rev. Bob McGraw, graduate of 1972 Second Vice-President - Mr. Don Adams, graduate of 1972 1 Secretary-Treasurer - Mrs. Bob Wright, graduate of 1970 Member-at-Large - Mr. Mike Berner, graduate of 1973 Dr. Gene A. Getz challenged alumni from I Thessalo- nians Chapter 2 with a message appropriately entitled, Communication That Counts.
