C 0 T, 'ies 1 PT. 'K' Mother-Daughter Weekend The annual Mother-Daughter Banquet was held on October 14 and 15, with the theme Favorite Things . Debbie Barnes Miles, former Miss America 1968, was the guest speaker on Friday evening. She spoke of her experiences during her reign and the excite- ment of accepting Jesus Christ into her life. She shared with the female audience how women can be happy, sparkling Christians in today's society. Last of all, she requested each mother and daughter to spend a few minutes together just to talk and then pray. Mrs. Gene Phillips, mother of student Karen Phillips, spoke at the Saturday Morning Prayer Breakfast, expressing her life as a preachers wife. A fashion show, planned and directed by Kandi Ketner and Sheila Bird, was the close of the evening with Pat and Marty Allen as Master and Mistress of Ceremonies. The highlight of the show were the two wedding attires. Mother-Daughter weekend was a time for mothers and daughters to draw closer to one another, share their joys, sorrows, and strengthen their bond of love. Truly it is a weekend that many enjoy during the school year and look forward to in the future.
