SECRETARY OF THE COLLECxE The Secretary of the cullege has charge of the disposition of the college budget under the State Board of Agri- culture. He has general supervisif)n of college finances and property. He is in close contact with the students, the facult} ' anil the i)eiiple nf the state. TREASURER OF THE COLLEGE The office of the Treasurer of the ' cillege has been held by J. A . Schep- ei ' since ii) ' J. The student fees are all handled through this office and the checks drawn by class offiicers and publication managers must be counter- signed by the Treasurer. Through the uffice, also, go all loans to students from loan funds.

w, EDUCATION With tlu- fostering of education and tho encouragement and aid of all those who intend to spend their futures as apostles of the teaching profession as its purposed aim, the department of education, headed by John Phelan, Dean of the college, has proved a vital unit in the growth and worth of State College. Not only have the students in these courses perfected the mere mechanics of their chosen work, but they have been able to grasp the true significance of the pro- fession in relation to the lives of those whom they intend to lead. As head of the division, Dean Phelan has always emphasized the value of ideals, of character, and of understanding.
