amify Z?a:iLef6a! The Viking haskethallers of 195667 amassed a mediocre record of nine wins and nine losses. This year's team was again lacking in the height in com' parison to many of their opponents, hut they more than made up for it in speed and aggressiveness. Coach Taylor Bakers hoys displayed a rugged, def termined hrand of haskcthall all season long. Leading the onslaught in the scoring department with a 16.6 point per game average was sophomore Don Myers. Next to Don was his hrother. Lloyd. Don was named to the All M.V.L. Baskethall Squad for the second consecutive year. Given honorahle mention were Lloyd Myers and Doug Butcher. The entire Viking team finished the season with a 53.4 points per game average and held their opponents to a 51.1 average. The record of this year's varsity does not tell the complete story. for this year's schedule proved to he one of the toughest of recent years. Among our op' ponents were such haskethall powers as Dayton Kiser. Belmont and the alwaysftough teams of the Miami Valley League. Entering into the District Tournament with an H9 record, the spirited Vikings were throttled in a furious hattle hy a very hig, talented Vsfilhur Wriglit five. suffering only a four point deficit at the end of the game. After losing four out of the first five men on last year's M.V.L. cofchampionship team via the graduation route. Coach Baker had the ofttimesf difficult Aioh of rehuilding, The fact that he did a terrific joh is horne out hy the kind of haskethall dis' played hy the Vike cagers throughout the season. A numher of returning hall players assure us of a tough five next year. R. l'ai'ramore. I. Vanllurcn. J. Kindcrdine. E. Kidwell, D. Dunkelhcrger. M. Ellis. C. Reider. L. Myers. D. Butcher. D.
