Serving as local representatives were Mrs. Roscius Doan and Mrs. David Hirst. The purpose of the Future Nurses' is to create an interest in the nursing profession and its related fields. In order to acquaint the members with various phases of nursing, the group visited Middletown Hospital, Barney's Convalescent Hospital and the Dayton State Hospital. In December they gave a S party for the children at Miami Valley Hospital. The group was ably led by Mrs. Beatrice Gephart, who generously gave her time and talents throughout the year. Lolly Stock was presidentg Sue Anders, first vicefpresidentg Iris Gose, second vicefpresiclentg Sue Coblentz, treasurerg Marjorie Whitman, secre- taryg and Jean Harrison, historian. This year's team was again lacking in the height in com' parison to many of their opponents, hut they more than made up for it in speed and aggressiveness. Coach Taylor Bakers hoys displayed a rugged, def termined hrand of haskcthall all season long. Leading the onslaught in the scoring department with a 16.6 point per game average was sophomore Don Myers. Next to Don was his hrother. Lloyd. Don was named to the All M.V.L. H As the graduating class of '57 looks back on the last four years of high school, we recall many fine memories. It seems only yesterday that we entered Miamisburg High as freshmen. Although many long hours were spent studying and working hard, we will not remember them as such when we look back and remember all the happy hours spent here. As our journey comes to an end, our last year will remain in the minds of all of us as the most memorf able. Under the guidance of our class officers, Rosh Doan, president, Marilyn Rudy, vicefpresidentg Jean Harrison, secretaryg and Norman Schenck, treasurer, our senior class of 117 students entered a busy year. Representing us on the student council were David Dunkelberger, Jim Fox, Ola Branham and Rosh Doan. Acting as class advisors were our sponsors, Miss Draut, Mrs. Von Gruenigen and Mr. Heistand, who was our homeroom teacher. On B. I. E. Day, October 3, we boarded buses and spent an enjoyable day visiting industry in Dayton. Twelve students took the National Merit Scholar' ship test on October 24. They were the first to participate in this test at Miamisburg High School. On January 18 the Senior Scholarship Test was taken by thirty seven seniors. Thursday morning, February 21, we eagerly gathered in the Memorial Auditorium to await the announcement of the National Honor Society mem- bers. Leading our class were Laura Tickel, Barbara Sharritts and Rosh Doan along with fifteen others who were chosen for the society. Onions In The Stew was the title of our class play given on April 26. On May 11 we were honored by the Juniors with a beautiful JuniorfSenior Ref ception. They chose Ebbtide as the theme. Many Juniors, Seniors and their dates enjoyed the Prom given on May 25 by the Seniors. To end the year, Baccalaureate was held in the Memorial Auditorium on May 26, with Rev. Frank Fultz, as our speaker. For those who were waiting, and for those who were dreading, the evening of May 29 came, and the Senior Class met for its last time together- graduation. We bade a fond but reluctant farewell to Miamisburg High as the class of '57 turned to face the world of tomorrow. . 4 jar jde Gfadri 1957 M. H. S., from our hearts we salute you, The scene of our joys so true, And we pledge you our faithful allegiance No matter what else we may do. Here we've grown almost into adulthood And learned to love much that is best, Learned that strong faith and courage are needed If we're to live up to life's test. Here we've gathered the flowers of friendships We shall hold to our hearts through the yearsg Here we've learned the true value of laughter, Learned to smile though our eyes dim with tears. M. H.
