Board of Educalzbn This group of men, known as the Board of Eduf cation, cope with the problems of running our school system. Working in this group is the newelyfelected President, David Pence, VicefPresident, James Kinf derdineg and ClerkfTreasurer, James Barlett. Cther members of the Board are Wilbur C. Neff, Ray E. Emby, and Glen C. Brandon. They meet regularly during the year to consider the school conditions and the everfpresent problems with our constantly growing school system. Throughout the year they have been chiefly conf cerned with the crowded condition of our present buildings and the construction of several new build' ings in the area. An addition to the Intermediate Building and one to the Mark Twain Building have already been completed. Two new buildings are now under construction: the Harris V. Bear School, which is located in the southwestern section of the D. Pence, W. Neff, F. Young, R. Emb city, and the Mound School, which is located in the Southeastern section. The Hrst step in reducing the size of the classes was taken in January. The Board hired four new teachers to create new classes in the third, fourth, fifth, and seventh grades. These additional classes were set up in temporary quarters until the ad' ditions were completed. Additional teachers will also be hired this sum' mer to reduce further the class sizes. The goal of the Board of Education is to have all classes at approximately thirty pupils each, Appropriations for expenditures by the Board of Education during the calendar year, 1956, met an allftime high of 5Bl,282,792.5O, which emphasizes the tremendous growth of the Miamisburg City School District. y, I.
