Seniors Leading the senior class thls year, and the preceding three years, was Douglas Schmidt. It RC is a rare occasion when someone is president of his class for four years. Since Doug was president of his class, he was a member of the Student Council along wlth Donald Wolf, Presldent of the Council, Ronald Babington, and Kenneth Yeazel, the class's other three members. The year was packed with special events. The seniors re- ceived their rings, cards, and an- nouncements, and selected their pictures. On April 22, the class presented the play, FATHER KNOWS BEST , which was a very D. Schmidt, president, C. Prather, secretary, C. Halderman, vice-president, enioycble and refreshing pause M. Leis, treasurer. . from their studies. Another special event given by the iuniors for the seniors was the reception with the Mardl Gras theme. A week later the seniors gave their prom. With these events their happy days at Miamlsburg Hlgh School came to a close. The sponsors who guided this class through its final year were Mr. Helstand, Mr. Baker, Mr. Schneider, and Mrs. Wood. Reverend Ambrose Aegerter spoke at Baccalaureate, giving them religious Inspiration before they parted each to go his own way into the world. Thomas Drake, Michael Shields, and Dale Pence, the top three members of the class of 1955, spoke at Commencement. Dr. James DeWeerd was the guest speaker. Wlth mixed emotions the class of '55 became alumni. MOTTO: What we are ls God's gift to us, COLORS: Scarlet and Grey What we become ls our gift to God. FLOWER: Red American Beauty Rose 26

The iunior class was headed this year by Paul Simmons, president. Helping him were David Pen- well, vice president, Virginia Buckley, secretary, and Arlene Overholser, treasurer. The sponsors were Mr. Kenneth Huffman, Mr. John Roper, Mr. John Stone, and Miss Florence Draut. 7 The iuniors spent an enioyable day in Dayton, November l, at Career Day. The comedy, FATH- ER'S BEEN TO MARS, was presented December 3, in the Memorial Auditorium. fi To finance the big proiects of the year, the juniors sponsored dances and sold refreshments E ul several basketball games' A.
