G. Brandon, D. Pence, R. Emby, J. Bartlett, W. NeH, F. Young, J. Kinderdine, Board of Education Mlamisburg schools are growing more each year. With each year's growth the problems of the Board of Education become varied and more difficult. This group of men tries to solve school problems. Ray Emby, president of the organization, is also a clerk in the Order Division at Frigidaire. Serving as vice-president is David C. Pence, who is an Employee Rep- resentative at Frigidaire. Working along with the Board of Education is James C. Kinderdine, General Foreman at Delco, Dr. Glenn C. Brandon, Veterinarian, Wilbur C. Neff, Assistant Director of Personnel at Moraine Products, and James Bartlett, the Board's first full-time clerk. It is quite a coincidence that three of these members were students at the same time three were serving as faculty members of M. H. S. MR. FRANKLIN M. YOUNG Superintendent Mr. Young has served Miamisburg High School for twenty-six years. During those years he was a teacher, principal, and is now the superintendent of schools. Mr. Young is doing a remarkable iob as he meets the prob- lems of a growing school. Besides his school duties he is the secretary of the Southwestern District of the Ohio Athletic Association, and in January of 1954, was elected to the State Board of Control of the Ohio Athletic Associ- ation. 10

The music you hear the ninth per- iod every day is made by the band. These are iust a few of the music makers: J. Gastineou, B. HoHman, G. Bennett, A. Oyler, N. Nicholas. The seniors had an election in government this yeor too. Casting their votes are B, Malone, B. Martin, B. Hoffman, J. Shade. Basketball is o rough game, as the boys in gym are finding out: M. Kidwell, A. SteHen, G. Harrington. Biology workbooks are iust a few of the things Mr. Roehm uses in his classes, M. Light, A. Gilbert, R. Doan. Learning Latin is not easy, as the following students will tell you: E. Zechman, J. Kinderdine, D. Schmidt, S. Schroeder. Principal Mr. Mittler, who is well liked by both students and faculty, has been principal of Miamisburg High School for six years. During this past year he has had much with which to contend. The new schedule that was started this year gave him many headaches. He is the advisor of The Blue and White, Student Council, and the National Honor Society. His advis- ory duties do not end here.
