Board of Education On numerous occasions during the year, the lights in the Memorial Building conference room burned brightly until the small hours of the night while this group studied and deliberated over the problems and policies involved in the successful operation of the Miamisburg Public Schools. The students were fortunate to have such a group of far-sighted and progressive individuals working on their behalf for the betterment of a constantly growing school system. In addition to President Neff, Vice-President Emby and Clerk Barlett, completing the roster of the Board of Edu- cation were the three newly elected members: Mr. James Kinderdine, Mr. David Pence, and Dr. Glen Brandon. -3-

'FK V tn Mr. Franklin M. Young Principal During his sixth year as principal of M. H.S., Mr. Mittler once again was the main force behind an efihcient and well- organized school program. Added to his regular guidance and administrative duties were: sponsorship ot Student Council, Na- tional Honor Society, Quill and Scroll, and BLUE AND WHITE. He also quite compet- ently fulfilled the duties required ot the position of acting Athletic Director. Superintendent Since his appointment as superintendent in l943, Mr. Young has played an active role in the development and expansion of the Miamisburg Public Schools. Year after year, the problem ot inadequate facilities to meet the sharp rise in enrollment has become more acute. He has utilized every possible means in order to maintain high educational standards locally. Mr. Louis F. Mittler -9-
