S. How we dread it for we all simply love school and all our teachers, even though they are cruel to us. Miss Smith and Mr. Young tried to guide us on the right road. By the way, you know Mr. Young. Well, his chief occupation is not teach- ing biology or chemistry, or being a sponsor for us Sophs. No siree. It's slamming us poor innocent children. That's it. Rex Weaver, Paul Hadley, Jimmy Gebhart, and Charles Stevens were our football men. Rex Weaver, Fred Hiehle, Lester Bashford, Robert Hiatt, and Jim- my Gebhart were our basketball stars, while Harry Jackson, Lester Bashford, Rex Weaver, and Eddie Miller showed us how to play base- ball. H February 28 was a big night . We gave an indoor Chautauqua, 4,272 four shows in one. Four of our professional speakers gave a debate iii and our Well known actors and actresses presented two plays. Then -. Qi? X X too, our Valentine Party went over with a great whoop. f'V7j: :.N , rl' Rex Weaver seems to be the most prominent member of our class ' A this year. He received the cup for being the best representative of the v..,.,,.... athletic gentleman. He has been on the honor roll several times, fp- and so has Dorothy Beachler. H. FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY Speaking of history, little did Columbus realize back in 1492 when he embarked on the great unknown seas that 437 years later, 107 rather green seekers after knowledge would embark on the great seas of learning by entering the Miamisburg High School. Here they were to seek knowledge and attempt to ascertain among other things whether or not their grandmothers were monkeys, Cevolutionarily speakingj. Well, anyway, here we were and here we stayed much to the joy of the upper classmen who needed someone over whom to exercise their authority. They recognized our ability in the line of athletics, when the following received letters after defeating the majority of their op- lllf, ponents: Parramore, Kinderdine, VVolphers, Kuhn, Dimatteo, Whitesel. I7 Mr. Millard helped the class fame by coaching them in a truly success- XB 'Xl ful cage season. ' . fd' AW. Our next noticeable achievement was our Literary Program. We ,,f,:e,.,'i i., entertained the public with a play, debate and other miscellaneous features. The big event of our year was the Freshie Party. Heeter's M5 Orchestra was the dancers' delight while ping pong was played by those ' W who did not dance. F. B. and V. S. YI' - ix HN i i X 30 . r X 7 X - - f wig. ,L 'Q if mx! . .Mtn F ,WZ 5 .
