The first project completed in September was production and distribution of itlentilication cards for ineinbers of the Student Council. Also in September, the Student Council had VVeleome assemblies lor new stndeiits and co-sponsored a Get Acquainted Dance with the TEC Club, bought various new games for the Student Lounge and sold school pencils npo.i which the football schedule was printed-this latter to promote school spirit. In October, the organization put on a talent show, and served a luncheon for faculty sponsors attending the SASC convention here. During November, the school was filled with enthusiasm for the Miss Tech lligh-Nlr. Tech lligh campaign, which was fol- lowed on December 5 by the Student Couneil's big event of the year, the coronation. Also in Noveinber, Student Council members helped with the Cet Out the Vote eainpaign. In February and March, projects included writing, of a new constitution, organizing the sophomore and junior classes and sponsoring Courtesy NVeek, during which 'l'ech's new pep song was introduced. Late in Nlarch, Tech was the host school for the meeting of the Student Councils of the Tth District. Officers for the year 1952-53 merit compliments for their devotion to duty throughout an action-filled year.

Treasurer of the chapter, Dennis Eugene Finkhouse, was chosen president of the class of june '53, Member Carol Ann Boalick, sec- ond honor student in the june class, was salutatoriang Susanna Huller, art editor of the Yearbook 1953, and Robert Stroub was named Most Valuable Male Student of the Year. When Mrs. Helen lsom, head of the English department, withdrew from the sponsorship of NHS because of pressure of duties as department head, Miss Grace Harland was chosen by NHS as the new sponsor, and under her guidance the chapter has made enviable progress.
