M. W blower according to factory methods I xx Laurence 'l'aylor, Bruce Turner. and Bernard Fitzgerald-are cleaning and checking alignment of main bearings of a diesel engine Highlights Diesel shop students find their frequent field trips one of the strongest of motivating devices, for not only do these trainees have opportunity to observe operation of a wide variety of diesel engines but they also make contacts that often result in future Jobs. The class averages one field trip each three weeks, to ice plants, local diesel repair shops, electrical plants, merchant ships-the field is widening so rapidly that there are always new centers to visit and new uses of diesel power to think about. With the nicrensed public acceptance of thc possibilities ot' diesel power and the human urge to travel in a vehicle that is sate, trouble free, and economical to operate, mday's diesel students face opportunities that were un- dreamecl of only a few years ago.
