Highlights While Radio Communica- tions shop is devoted entirely to obtaining commercial Ra- diotelephone and Radio tele- graph licenses, the work is not confined entirely to sit- ting at a desk, wearing head-- phones and copying code. There was the pleasant matter of a field trip, when the boys went out to get first- hand experience with com- munication procedures, using equipment which they had themselves constructed. Over hills, down in hollows, from ship to shorefthe ship being a canoe or two - the boys practiced and found it good. After class hours, the boys devote time to their ham radio station W4JOX, with a contact made with Hamburg, Germany, during the spring as the highlight of the year.
