:nfl iiii'iiii'i Distributive Education is that branch of Vocational Education designed to supplement the on-the-job experience of the daily occupa- tions of workers employed in any phase of distributing to consumers, retailers, jobbers, wholesalers, and exporters, the products of the farm and of industry. and to provide the necessary training for persons thus employed to manage, operate or conduct a business or commercial service in these or related fields. Courses in Distributive Education are usually operated after regular working hours in the evening, but the only controlling factor is the convenience of workers as to the time they can attend such classes. To meet the needs of the workers in this respect some classes are established at the place of employment with class times scheduled in the morning before work hours, or in the late afternoon immedi- ately following work hours, and in some instances with the employers giving the workers time off during work hours to take specialized training. Under the provisions of the Federal law persons who are employed in non-distributive occupations may enter classes in Distributive Education for preparation for employment in distributive occupations.
