Be-tore Herb came to 'l'ech, he was rate-tl as the- best athlete- at Vitrus Grove Junior High school. While there. he- was well-like-el tor his engaging personality and his gentle- m-inly conduct. He has always shown finc school spirit. Herb is a rotation student in the elec- trical trades group, from which he will make his selection of the trade in which he wishes to specialize next year--probably refrigera- tion. ff The 1950 Miss 'l'ech High, Ruhye Perkinson, is a senior in Commercial Art Shop, and has been prominent in Tech High activities during her five semesters here. An honor roll student, member of the National Honor Society, and winner of a first-year scholarship award. Rubye has served as second vice-president of the Student Council this ye-ar. She is a member of the senior class executive board and served as: a delegate to the United Nations Institute at Miami Beach in October. 1949. Rubye was a member of the Annual staff in 1949 and is editor of the Skyscraper News this year. Rubye has strong competitive spirit. and has won sev- eral prizes in high school essay contests. She won a gold achievement key for her work in the Scholastic Ari awards regional contest this year as we-ll as several honor- able mentions. She is secretary of the Radio t'lub and vice-president of the Junior Art League, one of her favorite out-ot'-school activities. Ruhye has made her mark by winning second and third places on the Crusader Kids' radio program for her talent as a pianist.

Gifts on display ranged from a traveling clock, and overnight case. to a painted scarf, stationery, and jewelry. Students visited the Queen and frown Prince and their attendants during English class periods.
