Richard Trasport and Ronnie Westerson put on flat trim , Qtyiw1j,Jh ?v V, N f ,, vu H t 2 0 11- fy-.f-.--.1 ,4- ,nf 1. ,,-...ii TUDENTS IN BUILDING UONSTRUCTION shop this year have had the satisfaction of drawing up a set of house plans, framing, and finishing a complete prefabricated frame bungalow that could be used as a home. This cottage, which was erected in the yard back of the building, has attracted a number ot' favorable comments trom passers-by who have seen the boys at work, and for this reason the project has served as an interest device as well as an excellent teaching device. Objectives ot' the course in building construction are to assist the student in acquisition of skills re- quired to construct homes: to develop the ability to talk intelligently about building problems, to analyze such problems, and to arrive at the correct solution of problems that may arise in construction: to take proper care of his tools: to follow safe building prac- tices: and to work well with others on the job. Roofing, framing, wall construction, joist con- struction, stresses and bridging, door hanging, in- terior and exterior trim-all are taught with theory and practice hand in hand in the attempt to fit the student into the building trades industry. Blueprint reading and estimating are a daily part of training. --m. at Henry Will and Vharles Reeder are jointing a dooi' Richard Summerson. Walter Repsher. an.l John t'rawfoi'd work the cut-oft' saw
