salads for student consumption is Mrs. Bettie Crouche, of cafeteria workers. Yes, those are peas in your jello, baby. Service Department Six-thirty. Jingling keys opened doors. Six forty-five. Cafeteria staffers arrived. Tick-tock. Tick-tock. First to come. Last to leave. Time to work. Time to clean. Tick-tock. Tick-tock. Sore feet. Dishwater hands. Work. Work. Work. Behind the scenes, Service Department members kept up 23 acres of school property. Among other duties, fifteen workers, each responsible for 17,500 sq. ft., maintained machinery, cared for 3,130 hall lockers, and replaced an average of seven light bulbs per day. Tick-tock. Time moves. Time to eat. Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble. Time to feed 1300 students. Luncheon menus, furnished six weeks in advance by the School Food Service, revolved around hot meals. Ever busy, staffers added box lunches. Yum, yum. Mural, mural, on the wall. How interesting you are. Contributing to the cafeteria's atmosphere, a 3515 ft. x 8 ft. wall painting of school activities on the south side of the lunchroom reached completion in the fall. Atmosphere plus. taffers stop for a moment before changing shifts: Tony Tarantino, Bernard Gould, George Jones, Clarence Jones, Clidie Perry, iaron Smith, Louise Burke, Ruby Timmons, John Hozjan, Tom Gage, Algu Spivey, John Davis and Adam Broadt. service

Office Staff Good guys to the rescue. Office efficiency, a white hat special, kept the school running smoothly. Even during summer months secretaries toiled, totaling student credits, assigning pupils to home- room sections, and processing newcomers. Didn't like your substitute? Speak to the office personnel. Besides hiring fill-in teachers, they manned the switchboard and completed everything from permanent records to diplomas. CA misspell- ing?!J How do you do? Nice to meet you. Go straight down the corridor and turn to your right. -the unofficial welcoming committee on the job. Mrs. Rosemary Merritt enjoys variety of Yeas, yeas numba pleease! Ten office secretaries handle a number of tasks throughout the day.
