Just determination to be in the right place. Ho hum. English or biology today? A complicated set up of alternating English-biol- ogy classes enabled students to have class in the auditorium and small classroom. Confusion intensi- fied. For the first time, only phase three and four classes participated in telelessons. Biology phases one, two, and five found themselves in five-day-a- week classes. Life. Death. And on. By a heartbeat, science moved on. Out to help win the race, 11 students concentrated on advanced scientific study. Whether working with a veterinarian at Crandon Park or spending time at the UM computer center, students went scientifically professional for two hours a day. White rabbit? Slimy frog? Sleek cat? Or Reggie, fictional dinosaur cooked up by Department Head Errol Seegers? No time for toying around. Courses crammed with statistics were phased classes in bi- ology ll, chemistry, and physics.
