Bowling Sparked by team captain Jack McAfee and David Tannen, returning lettermen from last year, the Pal- metto boys finished with an outstanding record by winning the Southern Division Title for the fourth consecutive year. Under the coaching of Winston Clarke, the many practices held at Bowl-O-Mat Lanes proved beneficial. Hold your applause until the end, please. Throughout the season, the female bowlers at- tained perfection as they showed superior ability. Eat your hearts out, guys. Team captains Linda Popp and Peggy Dupler led the girls against such oppo- nents as South Dade, Southwest, and Coral Gables to keep the number one ranking in their division. Now clap. Lettermen promote interest in sports. After four years of inactivity, the Lettermen's Club was organized to give recognition to the outstanding athletes of school. Sponsored by Coach Barry Zimbler and Coach John Turner, forty boys qualified for the club Cobtaining a letter in any sport was the only qualificationj. Besides giving service to the school, the club sponsored a basketball game. With proceeds from the game, the lettermen donated the money they raised to Variety Children's Hospital.
