J V Wrestling Under the direction of Coach Dennis Bennet, the newly formed junior varsity wrestlers Cconsisting of sophomores and juniorsj had a successful season, winning seven and losing three. Some outstanding grapplers that will aid the varsity squad next year include: Ron Gunby C95 lb.J and Charles Brookfield in the Heavyweight Division. Stuart Harris C138 lb.J had a record of five wins and one loss while Mike Taylor C175 lb.J had a record of six wins and zero losses. Wins were over such schools as Coral City C34- 18J, Coral Park Q31-147, and Norland C35-133. To end the season, JV squad shut-out Edison 34 to O. Mini-wrestler Doug Bull and maxi-wrestler Charlie Brookfield show off muscles as well as might for the wrestling team. wrestling 189

Harbaugh, F. Crawford, J. Myers: standing, C. Murray, G. McGraw, T. Carroll, D. Howell, G. ittenger, S. Knight, J. Gleeman, R. Skeens, J. McAfee, M. Miller, C. Boynton, A. Flowers, R. Brewton, A. Gabriel, R. Miller, J. Feuer. Varsity Wrestling Defeating Miami Edison by the score of 37 to 10, the Palmetto Grapplers ended their most successful season with 14 wins against one loss. Their only loss was to the defending state champs Norland High. During the Greater Miami Athletic Conference, the undefeated Andy Burge finished first in the 115 pound division. Bobby Roberts C95 lb.J and Mike Anderson C154 lb.J finished third in the same con- ference. Other outstanding wrestlers included: Eddie Becker C103 lb.J, Steve Ellis C149 lb.J, Jack Har- baugh C168 lb.j, and Frank Crawford C178 lb.J. Coach Barry Zimbler and team captain, Frank Crawford, entered the team in the Greater Miami Athletic Conference and placed fourth. They also attended the Gold Coast State Meet which ended Crawford, having been on the varsity wrestling team for the past 2 shows his wrestling agility as he drives his opponent fora pin. the season.
