Janzen, S. Printiss, C. Jaslow, G. Mitchell, and kneeling in center, L. Brown. The record this year was seven wins and fourteen losses. J. V. Basketball Desire, hustle, and determination best described the junior varsity basketball team as they had a success- ful season by winning 13 and Losing 7. Led by Coach Jack Wells, they defeated such opponents as Miami Killian f56-495, Miami Beach twice Q56-53 gl 65-535, Miami Jackson C62-615, Miami Central C90- 48J, and Coral Park C59-271. Outstanding players that show promise for next year's varsity squad are: Lewis Brown, Leroy Mullens, Peter Echoff, John Lingren, and Howard Murray. ring the J. V. law Swimming Consisting of members of the All-American team, the Palmetto swim team had a successful year. The Panthers attended the Woodson Invitational in Ft. Lauderdale and the South Eastern Regional in At- MU lanta, Georgia, besides competing in local meets. They swam against Miami Springs High School for the dual championship. The Girls' Water Polo Team took third place in the nation and the boys' team took first place in the state. ' Candy Calendar, Dale Atkinson, and Marcia Pope were All Americans and Robert Buck broke the school record in both the 200 yard Free Style and 200 yard Butterfly. Outstanding polo players were Robin Malt- by and Marcia Pope. Coach Seegers in his 5th year in coaching the swim team added an additional coach, Tom Wheeler, who held the national record in the Butterfly. coach Errol Seegers checks the time of one of the members of swimming team at their practice pool located at Boys' Town of S. Fla. if ' oys' swimming team include: front row, Brad McMorris, Leo Krammer, Robin Hale, Larry Kravitz, Phil ilder, Landon Danby, Alan Corwith, Bob Buck, Scott Lary, Wayne Oaks: middle row, Paul Flannery, Rick ing, Wade Laughter, Hunter Henry, Chip Reid, Richard Barber, Craig Keeler, Kerry Roland, Robert Kra- erg back row, Johnny Demarest, Joseph Korvick, Eric Vickland, Adrian Korvick, Warren Daniels, Gary cobsen and Tommy Sims. The boys' swimming team met with only one defeat, to Miami Springs. swimming 187
