Mu Alpha Theta Plans County Banquet Organizing the Dade Mu Alpha Theta banquet in the spring completed the year's activities for members of the Pal- metto chapter of the Math Honor So- ciety. As a part of their yearly activities, members prepared themselves and others for the National Math Examination. Leading students in mathematics were given the opportunity to join Mu Alpha Theta after completing the following re- quirements: 3.4 average for five semes- ters of higher mathematics, 3.0 overall average, teacher recommendation, and math paper. Sponsoring a film during March enabled the club to raise money to send a delega- tion to the state NHS convention in the spring. Acceptance into the National Honor Society was based on the student having a 3.4 scholastic average. Teachers voted for these qualiiied students on the basis of service, citizenship, and leadership.
