Commentator Sue Cusac models her dress at the Councils' Fashion Show. 85 Girls' Council Makes Tapes for Blind As the unifying force of Girls' League, to which every girl belongs, Girls, Council gave a tea for new girls moving into the district. All incoming sophomores re- ceived a welcome at the annual Big-Little Sister Picnic early in the summer. As a new project, the girls recorded for the blind at the University of Miami library. Tapes were sent all over the world. Under the direction of Mrs. Shirley Newman and Mrs. Clara Pawley, GC urged sophomore girls to make dresses for Head Start. All girls participated in sending books to soldiers in Vietnam. At a December Christmas assembly, members modeled holiday fashionsg they also sponsored the Christmas Dance at Kings Bay Country Club. Each grade elects six girls to the Coun- cil and six girls are elected at large from the student body. In the fall, new mem- bers were inducted at a Council affair in the auditorium.
