ajorettes Twirl at the Super Bowl Nine corps majorettes placed an accent on entertainment at each varsity football game half-time show. The corps partici- pated in Senior Stunt Night and Panther Prowlg in addition, the majorettes hosted a powder puff football game against the chantonettes in the spring. Displaying their talents and enthusi- asm, majorettes marched with the band and chatonettes in the Orange Bowl Parade, fireworks festivities, and Super Bowl. Majorette corps members are: Captain Laura Partridge, Karen Stewart, Ricki Shaw, Vicki DeFeo, Debbie Alford, Nina Klam, and Linda Evans, Valerie Comp- Majorettes are seniors: Laura Partridge, Karen Stewart, juniors: Ricki Shaw, Nina ton, and Suzanne Riden. fi E . elected members of band display their talents by performing Mexican music to the Panther Prowl audience. 'enior Carole Fain follows her sheet music as she adds her vccompaniment to the rest of the instruments in the class. Panther Band Marks Time in Bowls Working together, Drum Majors Tom Meyers and Kevin McVeigh led the Panther Band at game half shows throughout football season and at various parades. Larger than ever before, the 120 member marching band stepped in time to Orange Bowl festivities. Under the direction of Mr. Joseph Bragg, the band distinguished itself by participating in many special activities. For the Hfth consecutive year, they hosted two band clinics, the Area Band Direc- tor's Clinic and the District Clinic. The band proved its talents in presenting con- certs for the enjoyment of all. Leading the year to a close was the Fourth Annual Band Jamboree. Spon- sored by the band and featuring booths by various school organizations, it provided funds for the band's expenditures. Its preparation and excitement concluded a year of hard work for the band. 61
