Erickson, C. Keelerg Second Row, J. Reilly, F. Purcell, W. Laughter, S. Wilder, D. Bissey, D. Kone, R. Buck, Back Row, S. Lary, J. Korvick, J. Ottaway, G. Elkines, R. Nash, S. Dahl, T. Moore, R Levitus, and J. Kravitz. Under the direction of Coach Errol Seegers, the swim team received some city, district, and state fame with theill excellent performances. Swimming Team Competes in Atlanta Girls finished second in the Southeastern Interscholastic Invitational Swimming and Diving Championships held in Atlanta, Georgia, in February. The boys placed seventh in a field of 51 schools. Setting a new meet record in the four-hundred freestyle relay with a time of 3:57 were: Dale Atkinson, Candy Calendar, Laurie Buck, and Marsha Pope. Swimmers started conditioning in early November by swimming 4M miles a day. The teamis desire to work paid off, mem- bers fulfilled Coach Errol Seeger's pre- season expectations by having one of their best records. The addition of Coach Paul Redlhamer as diving coach helped add points to the Panthers' meet scores. Junior Scott Lary, in his nrst year on team, races for the finish and jirst place in the but terfly event. Constant exercise and work helped to improve his winning butterfly stroke 156

Wrestling Team Strives to Keep Record Retaining last yearis strength, grapplers recorded a 8-3-l season. Only Miami Coral Park, Curley, and Norland slipped by the team. Much improved Miami Springs managed to tie the Panthers. Practicing six days a week helped to establish outstanding wrestlers, Bill Mc- Adam, ll-lg Steve Ellis, 8-lg Pete Gle- man, 9-3, and Dewey Abel, 8-3. Andy Burge, 15-O, chalked up a first in the county's sophomore tournament.
