F BL Visits Vocational School Snow-cone and doughnut sales raised funds for the Future Business Leaders of America. Monies obtained Hnanced trips to the convention in March at Miami Beach. Members of Future Business Leaders of America visited businesses, banks, and vocational schools throughout the year and offered after-school business services to teachers. Helping the Crippled Children's Home at Easter and assisting the Red Cross provided FBLA members with experi- ence in educational, vocational, and leadership fields. With the money, the club helped support a Cherokee Indian girl in Oklahomag monies earned also aided in having the students attend the District 10 Conference. Directed by President Marcia Wilson and Sponsor Mrs. Kathryn George, CBE had a Christmas party for migrant fami- lies in Homestead and gave gifts to the children. Composed of students interested in oiiice occupations, the CBE program mixed school and careers for seniors with at least 15 credits in business courses. CBE members attended the Employee- Employer Banquet at the Everglades Hotel in the spring and finished the year with a beach party at Crandon Park. President ........... FTA members tutored students and assisted teachers in grading papers. They spoke over the loud speaker during American Education Week and compiled honor rolls for the News Leader. Members also sponsored a book drive for Variety Children's Hospital and sold Homecoming Jinx Dolls. They gained in- sight into the teaching profession by ob- serving techniques at other schools.
