i Update Participates in Senate Organized to promote a more compre- hensive interest in the political, economi- cal, and social questions of the world today, Update, Social Studies Club, pro- vided prominent speakers from all fields of social science and government. Speakers included: Robert Haverlield, state senator, Walter Dimarko, the Vice- President of Dade County Republicans, and Fred Shaw, Dean of Miami Dade Junior College. Update took an active part in the state Social Studies Senate and Competitions, each of which is held once a year. Through participation in events such as these, Social Studies Club hoped to pro- vide an outlet for all those who wished to express themselves through the Social Sciences. President ..... ....
