Along with providing Thanksgiving foods to Camillus House, the girls worked at Thrift Shop for the Cancer Society and served as Candy Stripers at local hospi- tals. In a combined effort with Interact, LJ F gave a Christmas party for the Insti- tute patients at Jackson Hospital. Sponsoring a sock hop, candy sale, and bake sales under the supervision of Miss Everitt, Mrs. Peeples and Miss Wayne enabled the club to donate a new color projector to the school. Giving their May Day party at Haven School, serving as guides at the Science Fair, helping at the Channel 2 auction, and installing new officers at the tea in the spring concluded the year. The calendar contained the cre- ative work of art students and featured the Match-the-Teacher-Baby Contest . In the spring, the girls sponsored a picnic in order to celebrate the end of the clothing drive contest. Elite then turned the collected apparel over to vari- ous organizations. Sponsored by Mrs. Priscilla Everitt and Mrs. Kim Overstreet and led by Presi- dent Roberta Jaffe, Elite enforced the Honor Court System and continued their weekly work with children at the E.O.P.I. center in Perrine. Members also found time to collect for various drives as well as hold Christmas parties for Holy Rosary Orphanage and Jackson Memorial Hos- pital.
