In addition, girls kept the cookie jar filled in the Teachers' Lounge. At every football game, club members carried spirit signs. Led by Miss Joan Shubella and Mrs. Lenore Gunder- scheimer, girls raised money by sponsor- ing a victory sock hop and by selling donuts and baked goods. Newly selected members with a 2.6 average in scholarship and conduct were inducted in the first and third six Weeks. Thespians sold carnations on Valentine's Day to earn money for scenery and props. Led by President Val Greenfield, honor society members participated in the yearly Drama Festival at the University of Miami's Ring Theater. Required for membership were ten Thespian points. One point equals ten hours of work earned by students appear- ing in school plays, local productions, and in children's plays. Seven of the ten points must be attained within the school.
