E Rehearsals began with a co-operative effort to produce a tremendous first Miami Madcaps Show. Hats Off The First Annual Madcaps The 1963 Madcaps production, Hats Off, began with the selection of a Madcaps Board. Costumes were designed, sets constructed, and auditions were held for the acts to be used in the show. Every depart- ment was utilized in preparation for Hats Off. A spectacular blast-off opened the show with excite- ment and enthusiasm and was followed by fast lively action. The first scene, a beach scene, was the setting for the blast-off and highlights of the astronaut's life. In the scenes which followed, the astronaut, looking down from his space capsule, viewed a circus, Paris night club, and sights from around the World. In the Roaring Twenties scene Betty Busse sang to our astronaut.
