Our education is the focal point of our development. When we hear the word school the first mental picture that pops into our mind is books, However, we should also recognize the fact that there is another equally important facet to our education. Evidently our teachers and parents recognize this, for they have always encouraged us to participate in activities outside the classroom. Such things as our student council, classroom clubs, speech activities, and sports should help us to realize that to succeed in life we must necessarily learn to live with people. The scho0l's purpose today is not only to educate a person with book knowledge, but also to prepare that person for life after graduation. If we Seniors, in the past twelve years, have learned that we must actively live within a society, and not alone with our book knowledge, then our high school years have been successful. Therefore, we would like to dedicate this annual not only to scholarship in general, but particularly to the members of the Senior Class of 1961, whom we feel have success- fully completed this important phase of their education.
