Badminton team regroups after one year's absence BY: PIERRE DWYER Sports Editor Since we didn't have a badminton team last year, l was really looking forward to a bunch of new faces and new talent, claimed Coach Fran King at the outset of the season. This year the team had quite a large turnout as over 30 students tried out for the I6 posi- tions on the team. Contrary to what many people may believe, badminton is not as easy as it looks. Badminton is a fast-moving, aggressive sport. I think it's the quickness of the sport which surprises most people, said Coach Fran King. Outstanding efforts were contributed by team players Mandy Hernandez, Oscar Kourany, Eddy Chao, and Sophomore Abe Rodrigeuz, who showed some promise. 'The reason I joined the team is because I was on it before and l'd found it very challenging.
