Football players have 'successful' season of 3 3 By: Pierre Dwyer Sports Editor The junior varsity football team completed their season with a 3-3 record. After an open- ing game loss at Columbus on September 18, the team won three straight beating Miami High, Miami Beach, and Miami Spr- ings. But the team lost the final two games at home to Northwestem and Coral Gables. The team lacked experience but overall had a successful season which was very rewarding and enjoyable to see happen, said Coach Donald Buslinger. The team's main assets throughout the season was a strong running game and a solid defense. The offense was able to score from almost anywhere on the field, making many big plays. David Del Rio, running back, broke loose for over 180 yards and two touchdowns in a victory over Miami High. Being on junior varsity gave me the chance to play and perform the way lwanted to, ex- plained David after he was moved to the varisty squad. Other outstanding players for the team were Quarterback Adam Laboranti, Tight End David Misacavage, and defensive players Bill Giunta and Carlos Munoz.
