Juan enlisted on March l9, 1980. He took basic training at Fort McClellan in Alabama. After school ended, Juan learned basic soldiering. He became a marksman with an M-l6 rifle and familiar with the handling of grenades. Boot Camp helped me feel more confident of myself and l can now tackle more obstacles with a more positive attitude, stated Juan. Juan graduated on August 20, 1980 from Boot Camp with the Honor Trainee of the Company's Award, for his active participation with exercises, and war games. Painting to her is a hobby and she has no definite intention of turning it into her career. She considers herself a modem painter. Margarita prefers painting what she can visualize, instead of her inner feel- ings. When l paint l find peace, I forget about what is going on around me and concentrate on the painting, she commented.
