Media and activities specialists aid pupils with unique learning experiences By Maria E. Cardenas ln the media center our goal is to provide the best services possible for every student, com- mented Mrs. Ferry, head librarian. During the winter holiday season, the media specialists held their an- nual trim-a-tree contest in which homerooms made small books to decorate the library Christmas tree. During the months of December and January, the library held a read-a-thon to raise funds for the March of Dimes. Through a variety of services to the student body, the media specialists have proven to be irreplaceable. The activities office serves as a student informa- tion center, in addition to sponsoring Halloween Happenings in October, Homecoming Week in November, Spirit Week, and a multitude of other functions. Activities help students gain experience in the development of leadership and respon- sibility, remarked Miss Eads, activities director. Mrs. Edith Miester smiles after looking up a word in the dictionary in the school library.
