Dancers experience thrill of performing on stage By Pierre Dwyer After the first few weeks of school, the Modern Dance Club began practices after school. They prepared for the Christmas show held on Decem- ber ll and 12. The theme was l'd Rather be Danc- ing. The club also had a spring show on May 28 and 29. The ofncers for Modern Dance were as follows: Jessica Collazo, president, Norma Fernandez, vice- presidentg Susie Alvarez, secretaryg Alex Matz, treasurer, Denise Diaz, production manager. Modern Dance Club provides anyone with the op- portunity to create and develop art, said Jessica Collazo. Modern Dance Club provides an opportunity to experience the thrill of performing on stage. Most people die of stage fright the Hrst time the curtain opens, but their experience is such a boost to their self-confidence. After its over they can't wait for the next show, explained Mrs. Nancy Perez, club spon- sor. ln the booth modem dance sponsored for Halloween Happen- ings, Carlos Fernandez, Marie Ferrer, Natacha Garcia, Tony de Valle, and Ileana Machado dress to participate. 2 Modern Dance , iw, , al?
